Joanne began her career in healthcare over 35 years ago. After taking time away to raise her four sons with her husband, Dan, she returned to healthcare during the early months of the pandemic. Since then, her roles have varied, but they have always shared a common theme: serving her community. It has been a privilege for her to do so.
Over the past decade, Joanne helped care for both of her parents from a distance and, at times, while living with them. Through this experience, she gained a deep understanding of the challenges families face when trying to help loved ones age in place safely and with dignity.
While assisting her parents in remaining in the home they loved, Joanne noticed a gap in available services. There were times when her parents did not yet require the assistance of a home health aide, and they were not emotionally ready to accept a companion aide. They were also hesitant to commit to the typical agency requirements of having someone in the home for several hours a day, multiple days per week, when what they really needed was much simpler.
What Joanne and her parents could have benefited from was someone who could simply stop by regularly for a brief visit—someone to say hello, check in, and ensure everything was okay when Joanne could not be there herself.
Many families with aging loved ones face the same challenge: balancing work, family obligations, and sometimes significant distance, while trying to support parents who wish to remain in their homes. The guilt of not being able to stop by as often as we would like is something many of us understand all too well.
From this experience, Joanne developed the idea for a different kind of service—one that helps individuals age safely and comfortably in their homes while maintaining dignity and independence, without requiring large financial commitments or lengthy scheduled visits.
That idea became Hello Care, LLC.
And when it came time to bring this vision to life, Joanne could think of no better person to join her on this journey than Meghan.
Meghan is the co-founder of Hello Care, where she is driven by a simple but powerful belief: small moments of connection can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Her path to this work is both professional and deeply personal. While supporting her own parents from a distance, Meghan experienced firsthand the challenges many families face—wanting to ensure loved ones are safe and supported, while balancing the realities of work, family, and everyday life. Those experiences shaped her understanding of how much a simple check-in or friendly presence can matter.
Most recently, Meghan served as CEO of a startup in a related field, where she gained firsthand experience building and leading a service-focused organization—deepening her understanding of what it takes to deliver meaningful, reliable care people can count on.
With a background in non-clinical operations and a natural ability to connect with people, Meghan brings a thoughtful, practical perspective to care—one rooted in empathy, reliability, and respect for independence.
Outside of her work, Meghan finds joy in the same connections she helps create for others. She loves being outdoors—hiking, playing pickleball, or spending time near the ocean—and values time with family and friends, whether entertaining, playing games, or visiting loved ones in Maine. She and her husband, a fellow business owner and her biggest supporter, are proud parents of two grown children building lives of their own.
Today, the relationships she’s built, along with her own family experiences, continue to shape her commitment to making life feel a little easier, more supported, and more connected for others. That same belief led her to join Hello Care—so when Joanne shared her vision, Meghan immediately knew it was something she wanted to be part of and didn’t hesitate to say yes!
